This year’s Kirkby Lonsdale Arts Festival takes place from Monday 13 June to Sunday 19 June in
various venues around the town.

We kick off on Monday 13th with “Come and Sing” a popular event held by Kirkby Lonsdale Choral
Society in St Mary’s Church.  The evening starts at 7.30pm and is free – just come along.  This year
it’s Handel’s Zadok the Priest – the hit tune from The Kings Speech.  No previous experience is
necessary.

On Wednesday 15th June Encore Opera will be performing in St Mary’s Church at 7.30pm.  Let the
music of Mozart, Verdi, Bizet and Puccini take you into a world of romance, intrigue and passion. 
Encore Opera have won a fine reputation for operatic performances in the North West of England.
Tickets £7 Adults & £5 for concessions including refreshments. 

On Saturday 17th June there are a number of events taking place.  The annual Paul Pfeuti Piano
Competition takes place at 10am in the Recital Room, Queen Elizabeth School. This popular
competition is held every year for pupils of primary & secondary schools.

The Story Tent on The Glebe, to the rear of St Mary’s Church from 10am – 4pm, free story
workshops for children and families.  There will also be a variety of craft demonstrations taking
place throughout the day.

In the Institute, the Kirkby Lonsdale Lace Makers will be holding an open day with exhibitions,
demonstrations and suppliers available from 10am – 4pm.

Sunday 19th June sees the Arts Festival week draw to a close with the annual Kirkby Lonsdale Brass
Band Competition.  The Competition takes place in the market square all day with many Brass
Bands from the North West taking part.

On Sunday evening there will be a Rock Communion in St Mary’s Church at 6.30pm.  Another
evening service with a difference.

St Mary’s Church, 1.30pm—2.10pm      Free concert by A level 
Students from QES

Saturday 18th June—The Story Tent on The Glebe and around the town.
10am—4pm, free story workshops for children and families.
Craft Demonstrations and displays.

Sunday 19th June—Kirkby Lonsdale Brass Band Competition
The Square, all day

Sunday 19th June—Rock Communion
