A Thousand Paper Cranes

Little Sunshine, Little Rainfall

Wednesday 21st November at 6.00pm

Inspired by Haiku, (traditional short form of Japanese poetry) and Origami (the art of paper folding), this vibrant and interactive story telling of Japanese folklore comes to The Harlequin Theatre, Queen Elizabeth School, Kirkby Lonsdale.

Set in a magic garden, the Head Gardener and the Learning Gardener, named Little Sunshine, and Little Rainfall blend four stories of the naughty Storm Fox, through traditional folk songs, dance and a hands-on paper making experience. This is a charming theatrical experience for younger audiences, celebrating traditional Japanese culture told in English with some Japanese. Perfect for children aged 3 – 7yrs and their families.

Little Sunshine, Little Rainfall forms part of Highlights Rural Touring Scheme’s Autumn programme and is touring to village halls across the counties of Cumbria and Durham. This beautiful show is from the same creative team as last years highly successful The Paper Washi Wish.

Helen Baines, promoter at Queen Elizabeth School said “We are really pleased to have A Thousand Paper Cranes visiting our theatre – their show will entrance children who come to see it”.
