Finghin Collins is one of Ireland’s most successful musicians. He was born in 1977 and studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and at the Geneva Conservatoire. After winning major awards during the 1990s he very soon went on to achieve international success with tours all across Europe, the USA and the Far East. He has performed with many major orchestras and collaborated with conductors of world renown in prestigious concert venues in many parts of the world, garnering consistent praise from critics and public alike. Chamber music plays a significant role in his musical life and he has collaborated with a host of famed chamber ensembles as well as with eminent instrumental and vocal soloists.
In 2016 Finghin made his debuts in China, Turkey and Australia as well as continuing his European tours. To mark his 40 th birthday in March 2017, he gave a recital as part of the National Concert Hall’s International Concert Series. Other engagements that year included performances in Jersey, Switzerland, France and the USA, where he made his debut at the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival.
Over the last decade Finghin has recorded extensively with works of Schumann, Charles V. Stanford, Mozart and Chopin featuring prominently. He is extremely active as a programmer, commissioner and concert presenter in Ireland, having been Artistic Director of the New Ross Piano Festival since its inception in 2006 and Artistic Director of Music for Galway since 2013. In addition, Finghin has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Dublin International Piano Competition, a member of the Board of Directors of the National Concert Hall and Artist-in-Residence in the Waterford Institute of Technology.

Kendal Midday Concert Club
The club presents fortnightly concerts in Kendal Town Hall on Wednesdays 1pm to 2pm from October to March.
Our concert season begins in October each year and continues till Easter, during which time twelve concerts are presented. Based in Kendal in the English Lake District, the club commenced its 74th season on October 4th 2017, when Manchester Camerata played Beethoven's Septet.
In addition to featuring well-established musicians, it has always been the Club's policy to invite outstanding young professional artists who are at the beginning of their careers, many of whom subsequently attain international status. We are sure you will find much of interest and you are assured of a warm welcome at any of our concerts.
