We are a thriving friendly group of amateur gardeners who meet throughout the year at various garden related events.

The group can trace its horticultural roots back to 1841 when the Head Gardeners of the local estates formed the association,  all looking for an opportunity to compete and show off their skills and achievements in addition to enhancing their reputations.

The spirit of these early Victorian gardeners is still alive and thriving - though these days our meetings are rather less formal as we share garden interests and knowledge whilst having lots of fun.

We meet through the winter months from September to April in the Bective Room of the Lunesdale Hall to hear knowledgeable speakers on a variety of topics.

Our summer season includes a plant sale, garden visits including a coach trip, and in August, the Annual Produce Show where members can show off their skills, entering classes for flowers, vegetables, cookery and crafts.

The group offers a warm welcome to all who are interested in gardening for the amazing annual membership fee of £3 per person or £5 per couple.
