You Can Sing… But Can You Swing?!

Jazz Singing Workshop & Performance
with Joanna & Alexander L’Estrange
All-day fun choral workshop, learning new choral arrangements of jazz classics and swing repertoire in a welcoming and fun-filled setting. The workshop is led by two of the country’s leading musicians; former Swingle Singer Joanna Forbes L’Estrange and Composer/Bassist Alexander L’Estrange.
Joanna Forbes L’Estrange was Musical Director of The Swingles for seven years, and began coaching choirs and a cappella groups throughout the world. Joanna later founded and directed her own group AQUILA at St John’s College, Cambridge and is a presenter for the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), Leading Voices in Utrecht, the Association of British Choral Directors (ABCD) and for Voice Festival UK. Her expertise in the world of a cappella led to me judging for the Sky One television show SING: Ultimate A Cappella.
Alexander L’Estrange has led singers in choral workshops throughout the UK, from school halls to the Royal Albert Hall, and in the USA for the American Choral Directors Association as well as for the King’s Singers’ Summer School. His belief in the importance of singing in our schools and communities informs his compositions and, using these as a vehicle, he teaches choirs about rhythm, groove, style, audience communication, presentation and so much more.
Includes a break for lunch. BYO food or enjoy lunch at local cafes and eating establishments.
