My Penguin Year with Lindsay McCrae

Kirkby Lonsdale WI are very excited to be welcoming Lindsay McCrae, a BAFTA award-winning cameraman who worked alongside David Attenborough on the BBC Studios series ‘Dynasties’.

Lindsay spent a year living in Antarctica, getting close to the remarkable colonies of penguins in order to film the stunning footage for the programme.

He will share with us some fascinating behind-the-scenes information about the preparation involved in such a challenging trip as well as how to survive day-to-day life in temperatures which were often below minus 60 degrees! Lindsay gained a remarkable insight into the life-cycle of penguins which he will also share with us.

This promises to be a fascinating talk.
