Talk: From Setting to Story

with local author Jennifer Burkinshaw

Kirkby Lonsdale WI is delighted to welcome Jennifer to talk to us about how she wrote her latest novel, Happiness Seeker, which is set around Morecambe Bay.

She’ll also be sharing tips on how we can harness our own creativity, if we think we too would like to write.

Jennifer Burkinshaw is a local author, who after teaching English and Drama for over 20 years felt drawn to writing. After completing her MA in Creative Writing, she published her first novel Igloo which won the grand prize at Eyelands International Book Award. Happiness Seeker, is her second novel, and is set around Grange-over-Sands and is a powerful story of love and hope in the face of darkest danger.
