SUMMARY:Wonders of Wax: Encaustic Art
DESCRIPTION:Casterton WI presents a talk and demonstration by Sue Tyldesley. \n\nSue has been painting with coloured wax (encaustic art) for over 20 years and loves to share this exciting process with others. She also exhibits in the Silverdale and Arnside Art and Craft Trail and elsewhere.\nSue will show how encaustic art can be used to create loose flowing images in vibrant colours using a variety of heated surfaces and tools. She enjoys experimenting with different approaches\, mixed media and stitch and will include some of these techniques.\nSue will share her love of painting with wax and the session will include some opportunity for those interested to make a card using simple encaustic techniques.\n\nMembers and visitors are welcome\, (donation requested from non members).

DESCRIPTION:Local artists are donating original works to be auctioned\, with all proceeds going to support those affected by the recent fire in the town centre. \nAll artworks and services associated with this auction are given free of charge and all proceeds are going to the Kirkby Lonsdale Fire Disaster Recovery Appeal in collaboration with Cumbria Community Fund. \nCurrently there are approximately 26 professional artists and the same number of local amateur artists who have promised to donate their artworks free of charge. \nMany styles and genres have been donated and the exhibition will be well worth a visit\, whether you wish to make a bid for a painting or not! \nPre-auction viewing can be made on:\n10.30am – 4pm\, 17 April\n10.30am – 4pm\, 22-24 April\n10.30am – 7pm\, 25 April
