DESCRIPTION:Four pairs of soulmates meet in the Forest of Arden. \nOne pair leap straight into bed. Another pair are dumbstruck by each other’s beauty and pledge their undying troth. The third pair torment each other: he showers chaste love upon her which she haughtily rejects – yet secretly she enjoys the flattery. \nThe fourth pair go further still\, playfully blurring their roles and identities to such an extent that flirting becomes more pain than pleasure\, and love itself is pushed to the limit of its endurance – and beyond. \nJoin us on Sun 19 July for an imaginative re-telling of one of Shakespeare’s wittiest romantic comedies by a 5-strong cast of classically trained professional actors from award-winning Illyria. \nThe Glebe is a magical setting for outdoor theatre. We invite attendees to arrive from 5.00PM why not bring along a pre-performance picnic to be enjoyed overlooking one of the best views in England (and therefore the world…). Bring chairs\, blankets and weather-appropriate clothing (no umbrellas\, though). \nPlease note that the performance will take place whatever the weather (barring dangerous conditions). \nBooking\nAdults £18.00\nMembers £16.00\nChildren (11–18) £10.00\nChildren (U10) FREE \nBook online → \nGates open at 5pm. Performance begins 6pm. Running time 140-minutes (approx.)\, including a 20-minute interval. Suitable for all ages.

DESCRIPTION:Dig out something red to wear and join us for Wuthering Heights Day in Kirkby Lonsdale. \nHead to the Glebe at St Mary’s where we’ll learn the moves to Kate Bush’s iconic video of her song Wuthering Heights\, against the atmospheric backdrop of our local fells. \nThis FREE event is for everyone – men\, women\, children\, old and young – and you definitely don’t have to be a great athlete or dancer! \nPlease turn up at 12pm to learn all the movements for the routine. \nLast year was our first foray into the world of Wuthering Heights and we had such a good time\, we’re doing it all again.
