DESCRIPTION:Casterton Village Hall is delighted to present an evening of harp music by Harps North West Ensemble including a range of musical styles as well as presentations about all things harp. \nAdmission £5 includes tea and biscuits. \nPlease email vhtreasurer@castertonvillage.org or call Jill on 07979 745128 to buy a ticket. \nHarps North West exists to promote harp playing\, support musicians of all levels\, provide bursaries for young harpists and maintain 20 harps which can be loaned out to beginners. The organisation also has monthly workshops\, an annual festival and three absolute beginners workshops a year\, where people can try out the harp.

SUMMARY:Moonrakers Folk Orchestra Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, Moonrakers run a series of sought-after Folk Orchestra workshops across the country for intermediate instrumentalists who wish to develop skills in arranging and playing folk tunes and songs in an ensemble. \nJoin Jon Bennett (guitar\, ukulele\, bouzouki\, whistles)\, Jacqui Johnson (cello\, fiddle\, keyboard) and Becki Luff (harp\, keyboard) for an inspiring six-hour workshop at Barbon village Hall\, ahead of their concert at St Mary’s Church the same evening. \nYou’ll have the opportunity to work through a number of tunes and songs\, and will be invited to suggest arrangement ideas yourself. Music (with chords\, countermelody and bass) will be sent out in advance along with a video of each tune played at medium pace for those who learn by ear. Above all\, it’s a rare opportunity to play with a multi-instrumental and welcoming group. \nThe £50 workshop price includes: \n\nSix-hour session with three experienced folk musicians\nTea/coffee plus light lunch (please advise any special dietary requirements in advance)\n\nTicket to the concert on the evening of Sat 25 April.
