SUMMARY:The King’s Men
DESCRIPTION:The King’s Men (previously known as Collegium Regale and All the King’s Men) is the close harmony group formed by the Choral Scholars of King’s College\, Cambridge. \nAs Choral Scholars\, the group’s members sing daily chapel services throughout term as well as undertaking a busy concert and recording schedule\, most notably the annual broadcasts of the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols on BBC TV and Radio at Christmas\, which reaches millions of people worldwide. \nEach year\, the scholars embark on a short tour of the UK and we’re delighted to welcome them back to St Mary’s this summer\, after a sell-out performance here in 2024. \nSinging a varied repertoire from classical to folk\, spiritual and modern pop songs\, the King’s Men will entertain us with a breathtaking live performance among the ancient stones of our remarkable parish church – it’s the perfect setting for this unrivalled close-harmony performance. \nWe recommend you book tickets in good time as we’re sure the show will be among the most popular events of the SS26 season. \nBooking\nAdults £15.00\nMembers £12.50\nU18s £8.00 \nBook online → \nPop up bar available.

DESCRIPTION:Four pairs of soulmates meet in the Forest of Arden. \nOne pair leap straight into bed. Another pair are dumbstruck by each other’s beauty and pledge their undying troth. The third pair torment each other: he showers chaste love upon her which she haughtily rejects – yet secretly she enjoys the flattery. \nThe fourth pair go further still\, playfully blurring their roles and identities to such an extent that flirting becomes more pain than pleasure\, and love itself is pushed to the limit of its endurance – and beyond. \nJoin us on Sun 19 July for an imaginative re-telling of one of Shakespeare’s wittiest romantic comedies by a 5-strong cast of classically trained professional actors from award-winning Illyria. \nThe Glebe is a magical setting for outdoor theatre. We invite attendees to arrive from 5.00PM why not bring along a pre-performance picnic to be enjoyed overlooking one of the best views in England (and therefore the world…).
