SUMMARY:Wray Scarecrow Festival
DESCRIPTION:The longest-running Scarecrow Festival in the UK (we believe)\, is back for 2025. This year the theme is ‘Circus’ and all activities for the 10 day festival revolve around this\, culminating in the Wray Fair on Bank Holiday Monday\, 5th May. \nOnce again there are a variety of events taking place including 10k road race\, giant scarecrow parade\, car boot\, fell race\, local history walks and not forgetting the Wray Fair with entertainment and fun for all the family and\, of course\, lots of scarecrows! \nThe Festival began in 1992\, inspired by a similar event in France. It is organised each year by the ‘Scarecrow Committee’\, a small but dedicated band of local volunteers. DESCRIPTION:Come and join Kirkby Lonsdale Gardening Association at Lunesdale Hall on Saturday\, 17 May for a bring and buy plant sale. \nHelp us raise funds\, but choice plants and enjoy a convivial social gathering\, meeting old friends and new. \nWe welcome all contributions so please remember our plant sale when you are dividing plants or have extra seedlings. \nPlants can be left at 10 Bective Road beforehand or preferably outside the main door in front of the Hall on Friday evening when we will be setting up. \nIf you would like plants collected please ring Margaret Clarke on 015242 72045. \nDon’t forget that all our meetings are open to all and new members are always welcome to join our group.
