DESCRIPTION:Kirkby Lonsdale WI are very excited to be welcoming Lindsay McCrae\, a BAFTA award-winning cameraman who worked alongside David Attenborough on the BBC Studios series ‘Dynasties’. \nLindsay spent a year living in Antarctica\, getting close to the remarkable colonies of penguins in order to film the stunning footage for the programme. \nHe will share with us some fascinating behind-the-scenes information about the preparation involved in such a challenging trip as well as how to survive day-to-day life in temperatures which were often below minus 60 degrees! Lindsay gained a remarkable insight into the life-cycle of penguins which he will also share with us. \nThis promises to be a fascinating talk. \nWe do hope you can join us on Wednesday 12th November at 7.30pm in the Lunesdale Hall. \nGuests are always welcome for a small charge of £5. Free for WI members. \nNo need to book.
