Lunesdale Hall

Lunesdale Hall exterior

Kirkby Lonsdale’s Institute was renamed The Lunesdale Hall in 2013 by the management committee to make it more attractive as a venue for a wider range of social activities, including christening and wedding celebrations.

It was built in 1895 and is a much-used public building for all manner of activities, from parties and exhibitions to demonstrations, meetings, coffee mornings, theatre and film shows.

Kirkby Lonsdale is at the heart of the Lune Valley and offers a wide range of activities for visitors. There are scenic walks, a weekly Charter Market every Thursday, dating back to the 13th Century, a variety of pubs, hotels and bed and breakfast accommodation to suit all tastes and purses.

Lunesdale Hall is situated in the town centre, close to several car parks and is on local bus routes. It has a variety of rooms for hire, with associated kitchen, toilets, disabled facilities and a stage. The largest room is The Lonsdale Room, which has a stage at one end and can seat more than 100 people. There are two other rooms, The Bective Room and The Ruskin Room. The Ruskin Room is on an upper level reached only by stairs. Disabled facilities are fully provided in the ground floor areas. More information on each room is available here.
