We are delighted to report a wonderful blog post, entitled, Views, Vaults & Malts, listing 20 things to do in Kirkby Lonsdale has been posted by Kirstie Pelling of the The Family Adventure Project.
It's an expansive list of many interesting activities to do in and around Kirkby Lonsdale. Some of them surpised us, to be honest!
Kirstie lives nearby and appreciates that our little town is an unsung part of Cumbria (athough we do border the Yorkshire Dales and Lancashire!) and describes Kirkby Lonsdale as a 'characterful, eclectic place with a relaxed vibe'. We couldn't have said it better ourselves!
Amongs the activities included are 'View Turner's landscape', which really is a must for anyone visiting Kirkby Lonsdale as Ruskin's View – as it's known – is one of our greatest assets; 'Visit The Vault', which is the latest exhibit in Kirkby lonsdale, and a must-see if you're interested in our history. It's an interactive 'Story Bank' with seven stories which have been filmed that tell true stories of tragedy, love, triumph and local history.
You'll also learn about places such as Salt Pie Lane, Devil's Bridge and St Mary's Church. You'll discover our visiting 'bikers', and some of our unique retail, accommodation and foodie jewels too!
It's a must-read if you're looking for something to do away from the throngs of the Lake District.
