Who knew there were so many poets in Cumbria? On Wednesday 24 April some of them will be sharing their work with you at a coffee morning and poetry reading in St Mary’s Church, Kirkby Lonsdale, at 11am. They are the members of the ‘Write on the Farm’ group hosted by Jane Merritt with workshops organised by Geraldine Green. Anyone can attend the workshops, but we have a core group of ‘regulars’, who will share a few of their poems with you – they are Geraldine Green, Kerry Darbishire, Gerry Snape, Kathleen Swan, Julia Usman, Jane Merritt, Barbara Hickson and Chris-tine Cochrane.
Christine Cochrane will be launching her debut collection, ‘Room’, which explores her experience of using creative work as a means of coping with a diagnosis of ovarian cancer. You will have an opportunity to have a chat to all the poets, check out their publications and enjoy quality cakes and coffee. There will be no charge, but donations to St. Marys and Target Ovarian Cancer would be welcome. We look forward to seeing you.
