Where There’s Muck, There’s Bras

7:30pm Sunday, 17 March 2019

Casterton Village Hall, Casterton LA6 2RX

Casterton Village Hall is proud to present: Where There's Muck, There’s Bras: a playful, provocative, hilarious and inspiring stand up show exploring the way women are represented (or under-represented) in ideas of Northern-ness.

Performed by Radio 4 regular and stand up poet, Kate Fox and actor Joanna Holden, it’s a chance to explore the true stories of amazing northern women, including writers, scientists, sportswomen, politicians, protestors, musicians and other heroines who make up a far more diverse North than we usually see.

The show is brought to you through a new partnership between Casterton Village Hall Committee and Highlights Rural Touring Scheme (Charity). Highlights is a network of 90 volunteer groups. Together, they organise over 160 high quality professional events per year in village halls, schools and community centres. These include theatre, dance, music and children’s shows. SLDC, Cumbria County Council and the Arts Council provide welcome funding for these events.

A bar will offer drinks before the performance and at the interval. Please join us on our first of many fun filled & joyous evenings with the Highlights Rural Touring Scheme in Casterton.
