Casterton WI has about 30 members mostly from Casterton, Kirkby Lonsdale and the surrounding area. New members are always welcome – we meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 7.30 p.m. in Casterton Village Hall.

We organise a wide range of walks within Lake District Area and beyond led by our members. We walk on alternate Tuesdays and Wednesdays and every Thursday meeting at the B&Q car park, Burton Road, Kendal to share cars to the start of the walks.

Kirkby Lonsdale and District Civic Society was established in 1972. Its aims include the preservation and conservation and where possible developing those things which make the area special. It also arranges illustrated talks of local and historical interest.

Kirkby Lonsdale Arts Society was established in 1972 for the general advancement and appreciation of art. The group meet on Thursday evenings from October to April and there is an Annual Exhibition of members' work every summer.
