Remembering Wartime Kirkby Lonsdale

John Hamlett’s film on ‘Remembering Wartime Kirkby Lonsdale’ will be shown at Casterton Village Hall. This is one of three films based on interviews with Kirby Lonsdale residents from the 1920s onwards. It’s not just stories of evacuees, gas masks, and dried egg… Kirkby had 300 combat engineers training here, and also air raids, POWs, spies, Land Girls, U-boats, war brides, the Home Guard, the black market, the blackout… they’re all part of Kirkby’s war story.
Price £3 per person (cash or card), includes tea and biscuits.
Doors open at 7pm. Tea and biscuits will be served before the film, which will be shown at 7:30pm. There will also be a raffle.
