The Pendle Witches

with Terry Bond MBE
The Pendle Witches Trials of 1612 hold a significant place in the history of Lancashire and are amongst the most famous witch trials in British history. Four centuries later we remain fascinated by the 12 individual women at the heart of this story.
Terry will shine a light on the events of this period which led to the charge of witchcraft, the women’s trial and subsequent execution. An exceptional combination of family rivalries, superstition, fear, religious persecution and even royal intervention all contributed to this haunting tragedy. This promises to be a fascinating talk!
We do hope you can join us on Wednesday 11 February at 7.30pm in the Lunesdale Hall.
Guests are always welcome for a small charge of £5. Free for WI members.
No need to book.
