The Rotary Club of Lunesdale is proud to present, in concert, The Llanddulas Male Voice Choir in St Mary's Church, Kirkby Lonsdale.
Musical Director Eirlys Dwyryd is an accomplished musician who has created the arrangements for the choir. Eirlys accompanies the choir on the piano and on a Welsh harp.
The Llanddulas Male Voice Choir was founded in 1954 and since then has endeared itself to many audiences throughout the world, having gained and maintained a reputation for a more varied programme than most Choirs, combined with a quality of sound which so richly deserves the arrangements created exclusively for Llanddulas.
The Choir have performed in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Canada and the USA and most countries throughout Europe and performed many Concerts to support various charities including several specific requests from organisations requiring funds to assist a particular cause.
They have broadcast and appeared on television and recorded several CD’s the latest of which are on sale at our Concerts.
They have about a 50/50 split between Welsh and none Welsh speakers so affairs (and rehearsals) are conducted mainly in English but Welsh is encouraged to facilitate those more at ease conversing in the “Language of Heaven”. There is no language problem in this Choir!
Their repertoire comprises just under 60 items out of which 30 have been selected for inclusion in this years programmes. Individual Concerts normally feature 20 of these. Again about half are in English and most of the others in Welsh with one or two Italian just to add to the flavour.
On sale at the Tourist Information, at The Old Bank, 29 Main Street, or, telephone 01524 732873.
Sponsored by Booths Supermarket, The Orange Tree, NatWest and Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery.
